I am feeling better, now, thank you. We had a cold front come through a few hours ago, thunderstorms, and a lot of rain and even hail. My rheumatologist's office is about 25 miles away, in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and when I got out, it was rush hour, which on the Beltway means at least an hour of bumper-to-bumper traffic. The traffic was made worse by the NATO summit, a big chunk of D.C. was blocked off, so everyone was on the Beltway. Then there was the rain, and a tornado, and hail. So it took almost two hours. Funny how stuff like that doesn't faze me anymore. I listened to All Things Considered, and my alternative rock stations, and chilled. I think part of it is the Rover, the leather seats are firm and very comfortable, it has a good sound system, and I really like being high up and able to see all around, and the V-8 helps zip in and out of "empty" spots in the traffic. I am a Samurai commuter.

When I got home, there were all these large roundish ice cubes all over the yard, some an inch in diameter, and for a moment, I thought that someone had dumped ice in the yard, and then realized it was hail. Glad I didn't plant tomatoes yet.

Hi Penni, just logged on to tell you that the shots in my knees worked. I can sit down and stand up without pain, and can walk down the stairs without slithering. Wish the doctor had done this sooner, it's blinders, you know. RA causes swelling in back of knees, and you can't have cortisone shots back there, it can damage the muscles. I had to argue with him after I looked it up in a rheumatology book and anatomy book, that wasn't where I hurt, I hurt under my kneecaps. Luckily Chris worked in an immunology department as a tech when he was in pharmacology school for a year, he had seen a lot of knee injections, so I felt like I knew what I was talking about, I wanted injection under the kneecap, which is common. Dr. said, sounds like you are just talking about arthritis. OK, he said he'd give it a try. Wow. Thank God.
