Any insight into VANS internet strategy? I originally bought because of turnaround in shoe market and seasonality with best seasons ahead of us; skateparks are a bonus as are jv with RAYS on sunglasses and double digit growth of same store sales from their own stores. I am now intrigued by internet strategy. They plan to announce some sort of update this quarter, most likely in a few week(s). they should certainly benefit from e-commerce but I wonder if they will go beyond that. they currently command quite a bit of mindshare from Y generation which is the largest consumer segment and growing rapidly. if they can somehow transform this mindshare into web site eyeballs the results could be awesome. again i am not sure they are pursuing this large an internet strategy but they are pursuing it from a retail perspective.
