How about tie strapping 20 phones together then you will have computer modem speeds for data transfer. It would be a good way to sell phones in bulk:-)

I appreciate the info. on what the system can do. But I find it hard to believe that all that expensive hardware up their can't be jury rigged or reprogramed to do a few other things to bring in new revenue.
I wrote the company last fall asking for a 10-K or annual report and did not receive word one. So I'm glad the CEO is gone if that's the way he treats investors.
I went birding in Ecuador in Jan. and would love to have had an Iridium phone to call home in the jungle or trade stocks with my laptop. But it is too expensive now. And you're saying they can't tranfer all the needed dated over a modem.
I put in a stop a little below the 52 week low just in case.

CSM: I think you're wrong on the Iridium data rate...it's more like 9000 baud. But it's irrevelevant anyway. As is the entire satellite voice telephony argument. IMO.
