To Metman: Congratulations on starting this thread. For those of you interested in some background and history on BCI, there was a thread here which covers some of that but has had no posts for a long time. Can be reached by searching for BCI.

Actually, it could be argued that LWIN is another BCI, not the other way around. BCI is the pioneer. Also BCI is broader in scope, covering cable as well as phone. The Asia - Latin America crash last year pulled BCI from the radar screen since future looked dismal for awhile. Now with both areas seeming to be slowly and haltingly on the road to recovery, another look at BCI makes sense. And Brazil puts the company back in the news in a big way - particularly for those of us who are Qualcomm and CDMA investors.

For disclosure purposes, I own LWIN and once tried BCI but sold last year when future looked bleak.

From the NT (Nortel Networks) thread:

BCI is the less developed country (Asia and Latin America) operating arm of Bell Canada BCE (a Canadian AT&T) for those new to this - and Canada. As someone in US not at all sure of BCE interrelationships but someone can bring us up to speed no doubt. Note NT is the equipment supply arm of BCE - the Lucent so to speak.
