To all my lovely friends at DELL It is now official I DID have a margin call on Tuesday. I just got it in the mail. Of course I dont have one anymore. Fidelity said "half the investing world probably had a margin call...at least those on margin" Brown said basically the same thing "It was a horrible, horrible day for us and for our investors". Luckily most brokers give you three days and if AOL or DELL was your problem the three days was more than enough for the account to come back. So....I now know....margin and selling puts do NOT mix. I have bought one of the puts back already though it was a Jan: made 92% in 6 weeks, I'll go for that. Am hoping the market is stable so I can wait with the others (they are all CMGI) until May 28th after CMGI splits. Freeus Then, I wont mix selling p uts with margin again.
