Darleen,

That an interesting commentary. Was it posted originally to this thread?

He/she makes a valid point in stating that the big holders of gold would be quietly accumulating more and not trying to dump it on the small fry.

If you've ever seen ads by commodity trading firms touting how the price of oil is set to go up or down due to certain extraneous political events, you realize that most of them are BSing their audience. They are trying to sell you something because their big-time clients who were already positioned in the commodity are ready to unload on the general public and lock in profits.

So now with all of the rhetoric being spouting by gold dealers with their claims that gold is the best storehouse of wealth in the event of a terrible Y2K disruption, it should be obvious that they are trying to spur sales to the general public because their big clients are unloading their physical supplies.

When bullion dealers start clamming up and not mentioning the value of gold eagles... etc, that's when we'll have an obvious buy signal.

Until, the equilibrium point for the POG is still up in the air, IMO.

Thanks for the post. Sorry if that little exchange with Bill made you a bit dizzy.

Regards,

Ron
