Litigation is very expensive, but patent infringement is even more expensive. Not to mention all the bad press a big Internet company would get if BIDS filed a patent infringement lawsuit against them.

I would place my bet on BIDS, not the patent infringement violaters.

I wonder how many really pissed off executives there are at the major Internet companies that were too busy pumping their stock price to think of filing for patents?

Darn, a little Canadian company managed to get patents even in the US. Hahaha!!

Lola :)))

Aj Berger, we are all here to make money, long, short, daytraders and so on. If you believe that this company is worth nothing, then you know what you have to do (short it). The bottom line is that we make money, right ? I don't care about fundamentals, I watch my PC Quotes machine and then decide. This BIDS is a daytraders dream come true, it is cheap and it has volume. To watch this stock in Real Time is simply amazing.

With $22 Million in the bank, I think they have the money to litigate. First they start with an injunction and then they litigate. It would very expensive for any other company to try. Litigation may drop the value of their shares, ours are already inexpensive.

PS. Plus all the free publicity that Bid.Com would get.

This seems clear cut to me.

>>>"The use of real time declining price auctions is a major differentiator and
is anticipated to evolve as a significant sector within the online auction
marketplace. It will provide a competitive advantage as we continue to build
our auction business on a global scale."
Bid.Com's patent covers processes by which declining price auctions are
conducted using a computer. The patent provides a clear competitive advantage
to Bid.Com, which now holds as proprietary the most scaleable and effective
method of conducting real-time declining price auctions, across all forms of
digital media. The Company continues to add to its intellectual property,
bringing increased sophistication to its declining price auction technology
and, with additional patents pending, intends to further protect its patent
position. <<<<

n.b There are additional patents pending also

AJ, while what you say is true - it will be difficult for the regular BII Boosters to accept this. In general they seem to think that the patent is worth $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
While I haven't seen them post an amount that they believe the patent is worth, reading between the lines suggests they believe it to be somewhere in the area of $30.00US a share. Hard to believe but since they have no experience with patents I guess it's normal for them to think it's worth XXXXXX's what it really is.
