CC, I think the short term run in the oil service stocks has just about peaked. I do like them longer term, but I don't trust this OPEC scam.

Houston is a great place. True, we have some heat and humidity, which also makes for some of the most beautiful greenery in the world and lots of bikinis by the pools. Anything you would find in any large city is in Houston in quantity. The Richmond strip offers a large selection of nightclubs all in one spot, but I prefer the ones that bring in good but not super famous acts, like Rockafellers. The music scene offers lots of choices. Other than a pro football team, we have all the sports.

There are no real neighborhoods in Houston. West University tries, but it doesn't have enough ethnic bigotry to cut it as a neighborhood.

The town is easy to get around in, other than during rush hours.

Good Luck at Enron. MB

cardcounter:

<<<So is Houston as bad as I hear =P ?>>>

Another view:

"If you're ever in Houston
oh you better do right
you better not gamble
and you better not fight.
The sheriff will get you
an' the boys will bring you down.
The next thing you know
you'll be prison bound."

Midnight Special

Of course that was written by a black man several years ago and I'm sure things have changed since...well, maybe they have changed some...well, I hope.

CC,

I am planning to join AT Austin for an MBA this fall. I have heard lots of things about Austin and UT, all good. Wondering if there are any negative things I should know about, like residential areas to avoid. I plan to come out there next month to find a place to stay and would appreciate your opinion.

Thanks

Monish
