I'm sure these consumers put their dough into important things, lattes at starbucks, and helping their brokers buy nice things for their homes...

I've been worried about the consumer debt numbers for about 2 years.

What I wonder is if there is any truth to the claim that many people are using credit cards for more things than in the past (groceries, gasoline etc..) but paying in full when the bill comes. In other words, they have the cash balance available but carry larger credit card balances for convenience and pay no interest on the debt.

This may at least explain part of it even though no doubt consumers are extended. WC
