MILPITAS, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Read-Rite Corporation (Nasdaq: RDRT - news) today announced qualification of its pico MR head gimbal assemblies (HGAs) and head stack assemblies (HSAs) for Samsung's SpinPoint performance oriented 7200 RPM 4.55 gigabyte per platter desktop program. Volume production at Read-Rite's Philippines head stack assembly will begin in May, with shipments to Samsung's manufacturing plant in Kumi, Korea.

''We are pleased to be the launch supplier for Samsung on this 7200 RPM program that incorporates pico form factor head gimbal assemblies and a new four disk head stack assembly,'' said Alan S. Lowe, president and chief operating officer.
