IIt all depends on what you did up till now based on previous buys and sells.

You can pick 1st in 1st out

you can choose wich shares you are selling

or you can average the purchase prices together and use that as a tax cost.

problem is, once you have picked one of the above, you can't switch to another.

I would not bet the ranch on it! You need to have SOLID proof of what you bought and sold.
