Slider,

Glad to see you're back. During the last year or so I have enjoyed your posts and many of the other knowledgeable posters on this thread. I have purchased many of the stocks talked about on this thread including DO VRC VTS CXIPY BHI SCSWF WFT RDC FGI and CLB to name a few. I just bought RIG today for the first time.

I trade a little bit differently than you, because my strategy is different. I am writing covered calls on these stocks and hope I will be called out. For example, I averaged in to FGI at around 11 over a 3-4 month period. When a rally would start I would sell covered calls on 1/3 of my position e.g. at 12.5, if the rally continued I would sell the other 1/3 at a higher strike price e.g. 15, and if the stock would blow out I would sell a covered call on the last 1/3 e.g. 17.5.

I have been extremely happy with the returns and am now looking to replenish my supply of OS stocks and start the process all over again. I have my eye on FGI under 15, bot RIG today @ 28 1/8, and BHI under 25.

Best of luck and keep up the informative posts!!!

Phillip

Slider "The Mouth"

Msg #41752, Apr7. Slider: "I'd expect some buying/firming here aytime now - especially in individual stocks - if not soon - take profits, move to cash, or rotate to firm/stable Integrated, or Major Oil's... how the hell can anyone ride GIFI from $12 back to $8 ? - and it looks like thats where we be going...(VBG). ....cash and profit taking are not dirty words."

On Apr 7 GIFI traded between 9 ½ and 10 ¼ closing @ 9 1/2. This followed an intraday cylical hi of 12 3/16 on Mar 30 and it must have appeared to Slider that on Apr 7th GIFI would continue the slide toward 8.
That is what he said if I interpreted the above quote correctly: "and it looks like that's where we be going...… cash and profit taking are not dirty words."

Had anyone followed that advice and I am sure many did, they would have sold exactly at the wrong time and missed the significant part of the GIFI rally to 16 hit on Apr 19.

I am not calling Slider or anyone else a liar. He just has a convenient way of restating a past which is not always supported by the record. Caveat Emptor!

As far as today's GIFI action I don't know why weakness during most of the day was followed by strength before the close. It could be Petronius, but I don't know that.

Slider in the Crack,

We really don't want to go there, ...do we? You've had more wrong calls then one can possibly count; however I hope you continue with your ranting and ravings.

Today you got one right! Wow, I'll mark my book. Even a one-eyed
monkey can find the banana in the supermarket.

Truth is, if you could just keep your posts shorter; most of us could use you as in indicator without having to pay for it.

Hey, I personally don't care if your goal in life is to be an oil anal-ist, to each his own. ...I'll vote for you. You Da Man.

I'm even going to help you out by not sticking it to you every other day. ...OK
