They were just talking about Priceline.com on CNBC. They commented that priceline had been selling some tickets below the price they were able to obtain and therefore subsidizing the bidder. He continued to say that even though this effected their profit on the transaction, that some analysts feel that it is a good way to obtain market share.

This relates to Bid.com when they sold goods in the past for less that the cost and showed that as part of the marketing expense. Looks like other companies do the same thing as BIDS and that it is an accepted practice. Cheers, Mac
