FOUND IT! Here's an article for ya, "Future Fueled". From the June 1998 issue of Roundel, The Magazine of the BMW Car Club of America (of which I am a member). bmwcca.org Some fairly interesting and relevant content here, the article makes passing mention of Ballard, electric cars, hybrids, the Toyota Prius, and the history of BMW's alternative fuel program including hydrogen-powered R&D project cars (with internal-combustion engines). A good read, with pictures. The web version of the article has fewer pictures than my printed copy, but the text seems to be all there.
