<<New York, April 26 (Bloomberg) -- Comcast Corp. President
Brian Roberts is focusing on a partnership with America Online
Inc. as his best hope for a counter bid to AT&T Corp.'s
unsolicited offer for MediaOne Group Inc., >>

This article stated that AOL was Roberts best HOPE! Not very encouraging if you ask me for Comcast. I am taking this as a last ditch effort to win this thing. IMO it would not be very tempting for Media to take a large chunk of AOL stock in this deal. This deal would hurt the price of both stocks, especially Comcast. IMO, Comcast/AOL deal doesn't have a chance against T. T's CASH has to be way more attractive.

As for MSFT they could definitely go head to head with T as far as putting a tempting offer on the table. My question would be though, how tempting would it be to MSFT to do so? Do they want to make enemies with T over this? I would imagine that MSFT would make enemies with T over something that was worth it. I am just not convinced that MSFT would have that much to gain through UMG.

T IMO is the most natural fit for this so therefore will pay the most. AOL still has DSL and MSFT is working on T1/Wireless/WebTV. Though both companies would love to be into Cable/Broadband for it has a head start, they would each have a long row to hoe to assimilate the technology. On the other hand T can walk into this with no doubt of success.

I think we need to stop trying to figure out who has the ability to win this thing, for all of these companies could. Instead, we should focus on who UMG will give the most advantage to. That is the company that will be willing to pay the final price!
