It's interesting how defensive, and downright ofenended people become when you try to look at the other side of the equation

But there are plenty of posters on this thread who engage in genuine, intelligent discussions and happen to tend toward a bearish view on CMGI. You'll find that the bulls address these individuals civilly, and that the conversations are mutually productive.

It's Mr. Petit's cloying, transparently rhetorical mannerisms (with occasional groundless lapses into belligerence) that are annoying the regulars on this thread. If you look through the past few weeks' worth of posts, you'll see that they treat even other bulls this way when they annoy like this. Note particularly the bulls who arrive on the thread and say "I just bought 100 shares. Can anyone tell me what CMGI invests in?"

Your study may indeed be interesting, but the current exchange really doesn't apply to it.

then you should sell. who wants to own a stock with serious cracks around the waterline. maybe it's another cpq. dump this loser. don't waste or risk your money with this baby. listen to the analysis on cnbc.

there are enough shorts on this this board to "rock the boat" and i don't recall even one post where anyone tried to suppress controversial opinions or contrarian analyses. i'm no expert, but all of my dumb inquiries have been answered courteously thoroughly and promptly. it takes a lot to irritate the regulars who do have a lot of expertise.

Hey Mark

This is a cultish type thread. The company cmgi is very powerful in its space and has a wonderful record of picking the start-ups that will make an impact on the internet. It is hard to deny the impact and returns lycos, geocities, critical path and realnetworks have had on the bottomline. With silknet, engage technologies, one- list and ragingbull as some other start-up hopefuls. It is also the cmgi model that is alluring. CMGI does a good job of treating all its investments as a family of companies sharing ideas and technology to make them all better. There is no denying the stock is a highflyer. CMGI stock is, however, one of the few ways individual investors can participate in venture capital deals. BY the way, most brokers require a minimum of 70% margin for internet stocks..I heard the opposite of you that the meltdown last monday wasn't as bad as originally suspected.
