Thanks for the post. I wouldn't believe that the meltdown would be that bad, but the comments on the various threads were desparate. I read an article about the situation, and one of the main posters on the Amazon thread(no names-g-) was getting a margin call(he is fine now I'm sure). Another guy who had turned 120,000 into 28,000, and had figured that all that had to happen was that AOL had to go to 600 or so for him to break even.-g- He was being reasonable though... he figured it might take a couple years!-g- The mentality..(granted it might be a minority) is pretty scary.
What I love is that every Tom dick and Jane is now a daytrader! People who never owned a stock in their life are margined on AOL, and AMZN.-g-
As Bruce Coburn says... "we're livin.. in a dangerous time"-g-
