Well, that's the point, isn't it?
Of course, some lamebrain will come along and point out how the UK has X fewer deaths per thousand via guns vs. the US....etc.
It's all meaningless, primarily because the UK is a homogenous society, unlike the US, which is a melting pot. If you go to N. Ireland, where the UK is a LITTLE more like the US (though there is a political slant to the killings there), the #'s are closer to the US.
The homo/heterogeneous angle plays itself out in MANY areas in the US, primarily because our gov't AND media love to promote and sensationalize factions which, eventually, become antagonistic toward each other.
