From what I understand the crime rate in Britain has approached or exceeds that of the U.S. on a per capita basis. Evidently robberies are at all time highs and fully 60% of home robberies are while the occupants are still at home. Home invasion robberies are also escalating dramatically. Why? Because the robbers know the occupants won't have the means (gun) to defend themselves. If one says "well, they will be on equal terms since the robbers won't have a gun". Problem is a criminal can always get a gun virtually anywhere in the world if they have the desire and the means ($$) to do so. Even if the criminal has no gun then one assumes the victim is willing and capable of being as physically violent in a hand-to-hand situation as the criminal-seriously doubtful.

Look at South Africa where there are more guns per capita than the U.S. but most murders are with machete. Rwanda too where maybe a million people were killed mostly by machete.

It's only too obvious that it's not the availability of guns as to why we are having all these problems. We've had easy access to guns for over 200 years. It's cultural values, something the intelligentsia, elite, anointed, etc. will never concede until dragged kicking and screaming to the ultimate realization. Still, they will never admit their errors. As Dennis Prager said in his recent newsletter, Left Means Never Having To Say You're Sorry
