The point is that there are plenty of non-AT&T associated businesses that are at the doorstep of providing business and consumer broadband service. Therefor, any AT&T associated broadband platform (ATHM via cable) would not risk owning too much of the broadband market by merging with RR.

The FTC and FCC may ask for some "token" concessions, but there are few compelling reasons to substantiate that ATHM would have a lock on the broadband market if this merger went before the regulators, regardless of how loud AOL screams.

Here goes CNBC again with all the negative coverage on the trial. Poor, poor Hampton, that guy more than any of us wants this trial over!
