YOu know that scene in Jaws where Richard Dreyfuss and that captain guy are comparing big shark attack scars and poor Sheriff Brodie is surreptitiously looking at his little appendectomy? THat's me. I am sitting here embarrassed. Dan and I have never had a fight. We have had a few discussions- and once or twice I yelled and he walked out of the room. A therapist told us this is very, very bad. So we tried to fight. But we just can't. Even with a therapist trying to teach us how we are polite and nice. It's terrible, really. We both know it. We just can't do a thing about it. We finally agreed that if something REALLY upsets us, we MUST tell the other. But since then (two years?) nothing has come up. Biggest fight. 1984. He said something I disagreed with. I wanted to discuss it. He said, "I'm too tired to talk about this tonight." I said, "OK". An hour later I burst into tears. He said, "What's wrong," I said, "You hurt my feelings." He said, "Ok, let's talk about it." I said, "NO, you're tired,we;ll talk tomorrow." End of fight.
