I think that sounds . . . . nice. Very nice. Except you left out the part about the way you felt when you felt miserable for an hour after he told you he didn't want to talk about it, and finally you became overwhelmed by the emotions, and started crying. You described what was on the outside, which looked nice. But I bet what was on the inside didn't feel so nice. But I think you are in much better control of yourself than I am. I am getting better, but I have to work at it.

I am sitting here embarrassed. Oh penni my dear, you get embarrassed if your socks don't match even if you're home by yourself. Well, the most violent thing that has ever happened on my watch was that my wife picked up my suitcase (softside) after I got back from a trip and threw it back down on the floor. Didn't have anything in it but suits and dirty laundry though. And she knew that. I don't have the slightest idea what it was about though. Neither does she. We actually tried to remember what it was about. Drew a total blank on both sides. At the time it seemed oh so significant.

Penni, that's funny. The wife hates it when she wants to fight with me. I stay robotically calm and she rants and raves about things. Now that she's nearly 8 months pregnant, I can't do anything right! It's probably my fault, because when I do say something in return I resort to this over-analytical paraphrasing approach that goes something like this. So what you're saying hun is...the toilets are a mess, the kids are driving you nuts, and your feet hurt a lot. Is that about it? When will I learn. Talking reason to a pregnant women is wasted effort! :-) What does the baby do suck the brain for nurishment or something?? Michael (barely surviving his last and final pregnancy!) Cummings
