You state that they broke the law. So tell me, just what law did they break? Be specific please.

Nothing wrong with the means whatsoever, and no laws were broken. Parody is an accepted vehicle for humour in our society. If Business Wire had had the presence of mind to react as did wired.com, they would have sustained no damage to their reputation, and might even have learned something.

I think they're going to learn something anyway.

Rock nj,

Janice and company broke the law

Specifically, what law or laws were broken? Breaking a law is a criminal offense. This is a civil suit. There's a huge difference. So again I ask, what law or laws have been broken?

KJC

EDIT: Sorry. I see that you have already responded in a subsequent post.

Read this, Rock. You should understand what you are writing.

Libel \Li"bel\ (l[imac]"b[e^]l), v. i. To spread defamation, written or printed

The Court of Public Opinion
or
The taste in your mouth.

Standing up in crowded room and voicing your opinion always takes courage. It is usually respected. I see from this interchange that you have some self correcting mechanisms, that is good. I still wish you would consider changing your moniker <g>

As you can see, there is a uniformity to the response which is indicative of considerable weight. Each poster in essence makes exactly the same point, reiterating and repeating and constituting the VOICE.
Maybe instead of rock, you could try paper or scissors. Interesting times.
