Adding to Internet Value! portfolio...

I am adding ONSL and COOL to my Internet Value! Portfolio.

techstocks.com

Both are selling at less than 6 times sales, one of my criteria for "value" in the crazy world of Internut stocks.

ONSL is an Internet auction house, one of the first in an increasingly crowded field. The Street does not like its business model because ONSL does not have the minuscule profits of eBay. Pretty silly, consiodering that AMZN losses are considered a GREAT thing. Go figure. But ONSL carries only brand name stuff, not the junk that eBay does. And Onsale doesn't have the problems of individuals placing phony ads like eBay does. ONSL has excellent deals with portals like Yahoo!

COOL is a branded Internet retail store. It does not have the panache of AMZN, just good goods at good prices. They also opened an auction website. They get their software from DRIV. COOL has cooled, partly because the ofunder has resigned and a search is on for a new CEO. But the founder is now Chairman of the Board, hardly a negative development.

TBFC bought out by EGRP !!

No sooner do I put TBFC into the Internet Value! portfolio, then it gets bought out by E-Trade Group. I guess I wasn't the only one to notice the value in TBFC. Looks like the buyout value at todays prices is a tad over $90, TBFC already up in premarket trading.

dailynews.yahoo.com

The irony: Alan Abelson slammed TBFC and NTBK in his Barron's column on Saturday. LOL, nobody has ever made money (or saved money) listening to him.
