All,

electronicnews.com

This could be interpreted as a plan to spin off Cyrix (yeah, I know - shut up about those IBM 'rumors') and maintain the integrated approach.

National is considering integrating the non-PC microprocessors into the parent company, leaving Cyrix to focus exclusively on PCs, according to Steve Tobak, vice president of corporate marketing at National.

Here is my $.02 - Sell Cyrix for whatever they can get for em but keep the rights to the cores for the integrated stuff. Use the proceeds (yes, they do have half a billion in the bank already but I'm thinking big)...Use the proceeds to buy software companies to use with the appliances.

Corel Corp - $180 Million, currently developing Linux into a user friendly OS for consumers. Product lineup includes complete office suite (WordPerfect) and complete Desktop Publishing tools.

Perfect for appliances?

Don't know, but they had to reinstall windows 98, which means I have to reinstall all my software. What is S7, 270 or slot 1?
