Heather I agree with you about celebrex and vioxx comparison. I was referring to the time frame of now till the split. Celebrex was first to market and those #'s will be great. Once Vioxx comes out it will likely catch up and exceed celebrex from what I am hearing. I should have been more specific. Yet the #'s will help boost PFE share price over the next 2 months. I also forgot to mention PFE has the best sales force in the industry. Thanks for making the point Heather. :-) MarkC

Heather,

Despite the labelling on Celebrex and the data on Vioxx, I doubt you'll see a big clinical difference in either drug. First to market is usually the key with a new class of drugs and Celebrex got there first. That's not to say Vioxx won't do well, because it will, but it's not going to replace Celebrex in any way, shape, or form. I would expect they will both take business from currently used drugs.

Dave

HeatherN & MARKC

Celebrex is a MTC drug! PFE is simply our marketing partner because we are not big enough to launch it worldwide. Merck & Vioxx might give us a run but I doubt it. We were first. Merck is going to have to use the same label as we do about side effects so they are NOT going to steal market share based on that.
