I've read the repartee on LU and CSCO and had a question that perhaps you (collective) could answer. While CSCO's business model involves buying more smaller companies, while LU's model has a larger percentage of in-house develoopment as opposed to many outside purchases, which approach is more expensive to the bottom line? I would think that CSCO's approach would be more expensive due to the high prices of these companies, and the cost of integrating the new companies into CSCO. That would be an advantage for LU. However, the other side of the coin would be that CSCO might obtain better technology by taking the "pick of the litter" from the available companies. I wonder which strategy is really better, or if neither is but execution is the key. Any comments?
