E*Trade probably screwed you. However, I would bet $1000 that you don't get a dime (I mean it, not even a free trade) from E*Trade. But its good to see someone fighting for 1/8!
I've had my share of problems with E*Trade (see E*trade - as a service) and the score is E*Trade 100 - Rodney 0. But, I got plans to screw them.

I will use the "service" (i.e. real time quotes, research etc.) as long as I can with out paying (My E*Trade balance = 0).

The following is a dirty trick - Since I was unable to get any satisfaction for my numerous complaints. I actually felt cheated! because E*Trade had made $19.95 x 2 on a horrible trade. So I called customer service 10 times and asked a stupid question. I also resubmitted and challenged all previous denials. This costly waste of time was borne by me and E*Trade. I don't know the hourly salaries of the service and trade managers but I assure you that I wasted over $40 of their time. E*Trade, literally cost me thousands, and my desperate sabatoige tricks were the only way E*Trade lost on this deal. I know we are both better off going our separate ways.

P.S. The Power Trader and Platinum privileges are a joke! Many of the Power Traders still use the normal system because of the problems. I have Platinum privilege at E*Trade and I assure you I don't have an advantage (however the real time quotes are cool).

jim,

About that web dump......ever hear from them again?

Yes, I have had that happen. Among many other fiascos including: tens of thousands of dollars disappearing out of my account, marginable stocks being taken out of the Cash side of my account, and recently having nearly every trade I Buy only executed for 500 shares immediately with a wait of at least a few minutes for the rest. If I have a Sell Order in below the Bid, it will always fill partially at my lower price if the price happens to go down in the next few minutes. Meanwhile, the stock is still trading at the price where my first 500 got filled. This is a consistent occurrence.

Cheers,
Bond
