<<Your fishing habits must be a tender spot. I have nothing against catch and release,>> Not at all. You tossed out a challenge and I responded. If your challenge wasn't serious that's your problem. On the other hand when I challenged you to explain why you kill animals that aren't even good for eating [bobcat mink etc. ] I got no response. Perhaps this is a tender spot,no? I didn't put this question to you to get your goat but to make you think about how this relates to your "eating" comments and see that they were only an excuse to justify your actions.
<<So don't interfere with that or we WILL have a fight.>> "interference " is futile. Education is the environment's only hope.
<<I just see myself
as part of the ecosystem, not as a watcher or a petter of it.>> Those days are gone forever Dave as our teeming millions turned to billions. Our population growth has meant that if we all took your approach to the environment clearly there would be nothing left. As I have stated before we have been given the opportunity to be stewards of this planet. We should be honored! Your choice to reject this is one you may regret in the future.
<<I don't think it is any
more diminished by my kill than it is diminished by the kill of the bobcat.>>Unfortunately for this to be true you depend upon others not to follow your lead. Sad to say Dave you are part of the problem not the solution. Your donations to the Nature Conservancy etc. are admirable but I believe a poor excuse to calm a troubled conscience.<< I suspect that we love the same things. I>> Yes I agree. This only makes your part in their destruction all the more tragic. I only wish you could take a less destructive way to take your enjoyment from nature. The time may come that you agree with me....or not. If it does I hope that you have the time to make peace with your self.
