In 1993, handguns were used to kill 82 people in Japan, 76 people in Canada, 33 people in Great Britain

While firearms killed 39,595 in the U.S. that year, though the handgun breakout is unclear.

I know statistics and probability are concepts way beneath the local "You're stupid, and we're not" crowd, but most people think probability has some bearing in how the world works. I guess that doesn't fit well with the moral absolutist world view, though. It must be the liberals' fault.
