<<<Most public companies know little or nothing about how to put TV to work for them. AXC/TVW/Gardy McGrath is the expert and needs to create a business segment around 1) advising firms how to look their best on Net TV and 2) helping them pull it off effectively. The market is vast.>>>

BAM, excellent post, I agree. Yes we've got to give 'em a little slack for starters but your comments about ACX/TWV/GmG know how are dead on. In a market where there will be many new and big players entering, TVW needs every advantage they can get. TVW can increase their leadership position by creating superior webcasts from a producer's standpoint. They will be way out front of all of the bland video that we are likely to see for awhile. Most newcomers to the technology will be focusing their efforts on the actual technical aspects of the streaming video feed. They will forget that, as you so aptly point out, that the content is really what will be the driver of this technology. Those who pay attention to all of the things a television producer would, i.e. set, lights, and all of the rest, will have a distinct advantage over their competitors with a video stream of equal quality.

Again, great post, you should send it to Dave G. (hope he's still lurking here! Dave?)

Regards,
Sean

Interesting comments, all. Agree that it will be an ever improving process. The toughest part is balancing the legal and regulatory laws and rules on company disclosure, overseen by the SEC and self regulators like NASD with the "marketing" aspects. You have to understand that the target audience is not average joe but the analysts who follow the company. They already know PSIX; they write on them, cover them etc. They simply do not have the time to sit through a promotional video or slide show. Quarterly conference are not the right time and place for "promotional" activities. The SEC frowns and will discipline companies that cross that line.

Understand also that PSIX is completing a $700 million equity raise in common and preferred. The regulatory rules under those circumstances are stringent. Violating the rules during an offering can literally I repeat literally have the deal canceled or postponed.

The point of fact is that it was "a beans counters convention" not a marketing event. The important point was any interested investor, potential investor etc had access to it. This is major. These type of conference calls were limited access events. They were not open to the world. Institutional investors used to have significant advantages of access over the individual. That is changing. That is the opportunity.

Certainly, there is a place for marketing events. Companies often present to institutional investors in NYC or LA or DC etc. Things are more open and informal. That will be a significant opportunity.

Competition - Live on the Net

The Showbots are coming! The Showbots are coming! We've done what others have tried and thrown up their hands over. But we're just doing the best we can with the technical superiority we have... too bad for our competition. We're installing remote-controlled webcasting robots around the country to bring you the best, most up-close intimate venues of performances you'll love. Log on, turn on, drop in. Stay on top of our Showbot plans... there are big things on the way that others only dream of doing. Hey, it's business as usual around here.

liveonthenet.com

I like the introductory page. Nice layout, minimal clutter and icon usage is light. Let me watch a live event or show and report back.

Best O'Luck,

Tom
