You missed my point. Sure circuit switches are more than capable of providing a wide range of interfaces but the underlying fabric of the switch is at issue. It's inability to share bus resources limit the amount of traffic it can carry. Yes? Also these older platforms typically require gobs of support and typically the cost of this support has far outpaced their original costs - by an order of magnitude. this in fact is where a large part of revenue comes from for companies that sell 4E and 5E platforms. If tomorrows multiservice platforms are in fact more adaptable, can re-use bandwidth, and have on tenth or less the cost of support what will existing SP's do going forward and what will new providers install?
