Wily -- If you don't mind -- what's a stripped win98? In the installation of Win98 there comes the query from the installation Wizard .... "what type of install do you wish to perform -- typical ===== recco xxxxx ==== something else, I don't remember compact === recco for laptop custom ==== select what to install ......." Now the terms I used to describe this are not verbatim ......ggg but I normally select the custom install and find that this cuts the room required to nearly a third of a full installation and makes the loading at initial boot faster than Win95 with a full version. I've done no actual timed tests, so the feeling of speed could well be imaginary in my feeble head, but I know the room required is much less. Nemer
