Stephen Hilbert, chief executive of Conseco Inc., said Wednesday he is so sure his company's stock is undervalued that he would take his bonus for the rest of 1999 in stock valued at $50 a share or market value, whichever is higher.
The stock was at $32 at midday Wednesday. The company pegged his bonus for the last nine months of this year at $10.1 million. Mr. Hilbert said in a phone interview that he is trying to "let everyone know I'm aligned with the shareholders."
Is this not the way all CEO's should address their bonus situation?
Fodder for the shareholder meeting.

From our satellite sources: Biper SA de C.V. confirms Solidaridad 1 back in full 100% operation. Biper SA is the prime paging customer off Solidaridad 1, I am informed, and the Infolatina News Agency report on Biper SA's statement confirms restoration of the GEOsat at 11:20 UTC today. (I think that is 10:20AM Mexico City time?)

Infolatina is like the REUTERS of Latin America, in case the source is unfamiliar.

There was no reason in the release given for the temporary outage.
