Bernie your points about CEF's are well made. I agree...the bond funds and some of the equity income funds certainly do fill a need. I will re-evaluate the CEF idea and follow them for a while again. To bring up another subject, I compartmentalized them with REITs which, to me, never seem to live up to their potential. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Bernie, Here's another way to view Alliance Cap's performance. Not only has it given us a great income stock for us retirees, but if you look at their common stock (current yield is about 6%) it would have given great Total Return value if traded with AIM and had the dividend reinvested.

Unfortunately, when I've been interested in it in the past, I've been out of cash!
