N.O.....thanks for your input. An FAA mandated retrofit would bode very well for SMU indeed if they can get all their gyros aligned at the SAN facility. I agree the customer base must realize limiting their choice of vendors would probably do more damage financially than leaving all channels open. I hope SMU can provide this service in a more timely and efficient manner moving forward. And I agree, the recent stock price has afforded an attractive entry or averaging point.

N.O....this may be "old hat", but looking for institutional holdings in SMU here is a little info I found. Scudder/Kemper is the majority holder when it comes to institutional. As of 12/31/98 they had reduced their holdings 40% from 890K to 527K. As of the last report, they were holding a 5.3% stake in SMU. Of the top ten institutional holdings, two positions are new. They are Prudential Securities with a .4% stake and here's the one that caught my eye, a .3% stake was initiated by Berkshire/Hathaway. Not a large stake, but an endorsement by Buffet can't hurt.
