As usual, the crap you hear on Yahoo! is not worth much.

All you currently employed IBMr's, if you understand the time value of money and the desire of IBM to keep high performers, you guys will be just fine. All of you "old farts" employed by IBM, just count your money and wonder if you want to take your money and come to work for people in this industry that value your skills. If not, enjoy! All of you retired IBMr's, you have what you have. It is not that bad, though isn't it? Life is good, the stock is up, and guess what..Mainframes ain't dead!

The new plan is better for newer employees, but not for the large group in the broad middle. It probably is better for those with less then 5 years imo.
