Well, if what you said is true:
"if the amount spent trading in a given day exceeded the amount of usable *margin* funds, I would again face restriction."

Then we are still limited to only buying in one day up to our total funds available at the beginning. In other words, I cannot buy and sell many times using the same amount of funds. Has anyone been able to trade many times with etrade using the same funds?

Most of the trades I do are in unmarginable stocks so the margin amount is invalid.
