From what I hear, it's closer to being a commercial product than anything Intel has to offer.

I agree with Elmer.

Any demo of 1GHZ is special due to the inherent difficultly. Every hardward designer has experienced the incredible precautions necessary to make circuits run at 1 GHZ. It is not so difficult to get an individual chip to run at this speed, but to get systems to interact effectively with a chip at this speed is an accomplishment.

I have been expecting both Intel and AMD to take "extra time" in going from 700Mhz to 1 Ghz. These demos by both Intel and AMD indicate to me that I have been possibly too conservative in this regard.
