Has anyone thought to ask why Craig McCaw is so eager to pawn off NXTL to any company he can when it could make such a "great fit" with his other company Nextlink?

Nextlink aspires to be a junior WCOM. McCaw is doing a great job assembling long-haul fiber, local fiber, and FBBW assets. If NXTL was a prerequisite to establishing a viable telecom company going forward and/or was undervalued, don't you think he would want to hang on to it?

McCaw has seen the future, and it ain't Nextel. Bernie should take a look across the table and think about why a guy as smart as Craig McCaw would do this.

IMHO, as always.

jb -

no doubt more are following you out today and more next week. What a mess.

I wonder if WCOM top management have asked the market makers and IB's that they use to do everything in their power to support the stock from now on?

My guess is that they are and it isn't holding. This batle of wills is going to eat up a lot of WCOM treasure and resources and for what... NXTL sahreholders must be holding their breat as they just can't believe their luck. I wish them well they have had some super-man for their salesman. We should send him over to Kosovo. Whoever he is could easily pursuade Slobo to give up this afternoon and bring our three soldiers home. After the job he has done for NXTL Slobo would be a walkover.

Regards,

L

Don't forget to buy back in. Hopefully your gains are long term or you might be making a mistake. This is a core holding for 5-10 years and 10-15 points here or there don't make a difference, watch your taxes.

I've been in WCOM since LDDS days. The best time to buy has always been in the aftermath of an acquisition. No one believes they can make it work, but they always do. I genuinely hope you don't have to chase this stock to get it back.
