Caution.... U.S. blue chips erase gains, inflation worries nag
NEW YORK, April 30 (Reuters) - U.S. blue chips slipped into negative territory in afternoon trading as the bond market soured, spooked by a sign of inflation in a government economic report.

The Dow industrials, which earlier touched a new high of 10961.71, was down 16 points or 0.10 percent at 10862.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 3.5 points or 0.24 percent to 1339.35.
