The problem with your definition is that you say, "Any argument aimed at the person is an ad hominem."

Telling you to kiss his butt isn't an argument, it's just an insult.

Trust me, on this one I am right, the classic ad hominem argument is, "Don't believe Chuzzlewit, because he is just a pretentious old fart." Or something like that. But merely calling you a pretentious old fart is not an ad hominem argument, it's just an insult.
