Telling you to kiss his butt isn't an argument, it's just an insult. Trust me, on this one I am right, the classic ad hominem argument is, "Don't believe Chuzzlewit, because he is just a pretentious old fart." Or something like that. But merely calling you a pretentious old fart is not an ad hominem argument, it's just an insult. Of course, you are not a pretentious old fart. How old are you? (Kidding!)
