Well now...given that the universe is considered to be a closed system, from an entropy perspective..one wonders just where you are getting all of those ever-expanding resources to do work, and thus to accumulate wealth, which you then apply to the markets. Further, I would argue that great net wealth comes from war. Catch Litton's stock prices since we started bombing the Serbs. There is no "new wealth" in our world, just different forms of it.

Anyway, I still stand by my "zero sum game" (not gain) comment. For every trade, there is a counter-balancing trade...or there isn't a trade. Yes, money can run from place to another. But that's not statistics...that's sentiment and guessing and "informed judgement". Did statistics cause the huge tilt in money from the blue chips to the internet stocks? Same money, just went a different direction.
