That is true John, however that person must determine if he can enter the arena first. Having asked the price of the node, I suppose he would have been very happy and gotten more than he ever wanted. Without even cashing out his other investments. I suppose we also are assuming you ignorant, stupid person of example has somehow managed to find himself well situated in investments.

John, you seem to be losing sight of a potential investor's need to learn something about investing before leaping into the market. Mutual funds exist to invest on behalf of people who do not know how or who haven't the time or inclination to learn. Moreover, it is fundamental that no one invest funds that are needed immediately.

SI has some very knowledgeable investors. It also has some utterly hapless souls who do not have a clue and refuse to learn and who are going to be suckered. Take a stroll through Thread Morons and you will see immediately what I mean.

People do have a responsibility for themselves. It is each person's responsibility to acknowledge individual strengths and weaknesses and act accordingly.
