Re: MOT/Blackbird

The actual Motorola press release discussed in the previously referenced posts can be found at:

motorola-asia.com

Other information in Motorola's sites indicates that:

> > >The software technology of Motorola's multimedia architecture is now officially brand-named "Streamaster™". Please do not use "Blackbird" as of January 7, 1999. Also, Project X is now NUON™ Technology.< < <

The new home page of the STREAMASTER product line can be found at:

208.21.175.63

and is summarized as:

> > >The Streamaster™ Development Environment is intended for interactive multimedia applications that require high performance Graphics, Audio, Animation, and Full Motion Video. Our environment can be used for a multitude of applications ranging from a basic 3D-Games player to true convergence multimedia products. This product includes DVD, DVD Games, a variety of Network Interface Modules like ATM, Firewire, Cable, Satellite, Video Conferencing, and a host of new applications that have not yet been developed. < < <

A quick, but certainly not exhaustive search did not turn up any specific Wave or Embassy references. However, they, along with the other STB chip manufacturers, would seem to be good candidates for possible current or future partnership.
