Are you implying that when Morgan Stanley Dean Witter issues a "buy" recommendation, that they are not doing so for the public interest, even though their recommendations are directed squarely at the public.

This would imply that Brokerage recommendations are simply methods to drive the price of shares that they and their clients already own- and here I thought they gave "buy" recommendations to companies that withstand the rigorous financial analysis by all their computer models and would be a great investment for everyone in america.

Someone please tell me which is fantasy land and which is real? Maybe this is the problem with my bearishness on unprofitable booksellers with 30 billion dollar market caps. I want to be enlightened. Glenn? happy_girl?
