Mani - Re:" How about the fact that AMD shipped/sold more than twice TOTAL number of CPU at the last 5 weeks of the quarter compare to the first 7 weeks. The "net-net" IS ADDITIONAL customers for AMD. "

Sorry, Mani - you are confused.

INCLUDING that "twice TOTAL number of CPU at the last 5 weeks of the quarter compare to the first 7 weeks," the TOTAL STILL AMOUNTED TO ONLY 4.3 MILLION Kmart 62's shipped in Q199.

Those "twice TOTAL...cutomers" undoubtedly stopped buying the 350 MHz Kmart 62's and for the first part on Q199, AMD COULD NOT DELIVER anything BUT 350 MHz Kmart 62's.

Net Result - a 1.2 MILLION CPU DROP IN SHIPMENTS for AMD in Q199.

WIll AMD's shipments climb in Q2?

We'll have to see.

But if they climb to 5.5 million, they will only be where they were as of 1/1/99.
