It's time to revisit the FACTS when evaluating MDIN and not be swayed by chatter from SHORTY! A business associate of mine correctly told me on Friday, April 30, 1999 that the machinations of how MDIN trades and why may be interesting but the focus of any investor should be on the established FACTS! Let's take another look at the FACTS: 1- MDIN has moved from approx .08/sh to approx .50/sh since January. This is a six-fold increase in four months. All this mind you in conjunction with increasing good news. 2- MDIN has found significant gold values, even though some are lower than we would like them to be, in eight of nine holes drilled. 3- MDIN has found significant copper values in the majority of the holes drilled. 4- MDIN has had major mining companies all over the properties showing serious interest. The properties are namely LDM & LIPANGUE. 5- MDIN has recently cut out these two mine areas from the remainder of the corporate assets in the following manner: MDIN now owns only LDM & LIPANGUE. MDIN created a new corporation MEDINAH GOLD for the balance of the assets, and announced a stock dividend to shareholders of record as of May 7, 1999 on a one for ten basis(One share of MEDINAH GOLD for each ten shares of MDIN owned). 6- MDIN & CDCH have embarked on improving the existing road from LDM to Lobo Solitario which is on the property adjacent to the LIPANGUE area, as I understand it. The cost is expected to be $60,000.00 and is to be split 50-50 by MDIN & CDCH. This may be under way now and the purpose is to enable large equipment to access the mine areas. 7- I believe this could also be considered a fact, that the principles of MDIN have purchased at least a controlling interest in CDCH (Cerro Dorado) if not the entire shell. In any event this costs money as does #6 above. In view of these FACTS, why do you suppose any insider in his right mind would be motivated to sell shares of MDIN as some have suggested on SI, or for that matter, why would anyone want to sell shares in MDIN at this point, especially selling short? A legitimate profit taking move is understandable but to this writer it seems premature at these price levels. The FACTS seem to say that the company is moving along in a very satisfactory manner, covering all the bases, and should be quite attractive to a potential investor at this point in time. If anyone is short this stock, they should abruptly buy out and go long for their own best interests. At this point it is poor judgement at best to remain short and it is especially poor judgement to continue to short this company. In my humble opinion, the risk has been largely removed from this investment, and a prudent investor should jump on board quickly. I am very long and intend to remain so until something comes out of the blue which materially changes the FACTS! The Gipper
