Ed, the fact that MediaOne made just a quick decision to go with AT&T is itself a indication of their willingness to accept AT&T. Besides, UMG only gave Comcast 4 days to counter offer. UMG almost gave Comcast no time to come up with a good bid. This is another indication that UMG has decided to go with AT&T.

With T's expertise in telecommunications, why would UMG choose MSFT, a desktop software maker? Or AOL, an ISP/Portal company? Both MSFT and AOL lack the expertise to integrate Voice/Data/Video as well as AT&T.

To me, I feel AT&T's win is a fore gone conclusion.
