Seth, concerning the FNet IPO, I think right now for internet stocks you're better off using that old cliche (seen today again on RB), Sell the sizzle, NOT the steak!.

Let's look at some other "not so big" internet examples from this year. IMO FNet has as much or more potential than ANY of these success stories:

1. Marketwatch.com - 7 million in '98 revs with a 12 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 97.50 its first day of trading.

2. Covad - 5 million in '98 revs with a 48 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 45 its first day of trading.

3. Allaire - 7.7 million in '98 revs with a 7 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 43.75 its first day of trading.

4. Tut Systems - 6.2 million in '98 revs with a 9.2 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 57.50 its first day of trading.

5. VerticalNet - 2.3 million in '98 revs with a 9.8 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 45.38 its first day of trading.

6. MiningCo.com - 3.7 million in '98 revs with a 15.6 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 47.50 its first day of trading.

7. Critical Path - 0.9 million in '98 revs with a 12 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 65.88 its first day of trading.

8. Claimsnet.com - 0.2 million in '98 revs with a 4.7 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 16.50 its first day of trading.

9. Rhythms Netconnections - 0.5 million in '98 revs with a 36 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 69.13 its first day of trading.

10. iTurf - 4 million in '98 revs with a 0.5 million dollar profit. Closed at $ 57.44 its first day of trading.

11. WorldGate Communications - 1 million in '98 revs with a 27 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 34.00 its first day of trading.

12. Log On America - 0.8 million in '98 revs with a 0.4 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 35.00 its first day of trading.

13. Net Perceptions - 4.5 million in '98 revs with a 4.8 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 29.81 its first day of trading.

14. LaunchMedia - 5 million in '98 revs with a 13.4 million dollar loss. Closed at $ 28.38 its first day of trading.

Another 82 internet stocks with their S1 already filed and waiting for IPO. Many of them with less to go on than the laggards on this list. ALL of their PP shareholders will likely make a killing. Two more quarters of sitting around and we will MISS that window AGAIN!

Bruce

Seth you are right. I was pointing out the fact that Franklin didn't give any indication of an AMEX listing, touted the Nasdaq. Franklin is also the one who put out the PR on Fnet IPO. Not us threadsters, and they haven't kept us informed where we are with the IPO. As Bruce stated we may miss the bus. Plenty of IPO's not making any profit.
